October marked my blog’s 1 year anniversary. One year ago, I set out to do something that was different and outside of my comfort zone. I created a website, and expanded my social media reach to Pinterest. I never considered myself a writer, and overall, to me cranking out content fairly consistently this last year, is something to be celebrated.

Let’s ask that question.

So I thought to celebrate this feat, I would address something that is always a huge pink elephant in the room… Is Rodan+Fields a pyramid scheme?!

It is a question I still get when I discuss my business with people. What I have found over the years is most often people know they have heard of a “pyramid scheme” at some point before, they know that something with it is not right or legit (they might not even know it is completely illegal), BUT they also don’t really know what it really is. Let’s answer that question shall we.

What is a pyramid scheme?

A pyramid scheme is defined by Wikipedia as… “a business model that recruits members via a promise of payments or services for enrolling others into the scheme, rather than supplying investments or sale of products.” There is no viable product to give to those that invest, leaving a huge hole for the bottom to fall out. It also states that those at the top are the ones that profit, while those that join later at the bottom are left investing thousands, and never profit.

Interesting take on a pyramid, right?

Is Rodan+Fields a pyramid scheme?

Here are 4 reasons why we know… Rodan+Fields is not a pyramid scheme.

  1. The founders. We know that pyramid schemes are illegal. Any one that develops or participates in one, will eventually be prosecuted, and shut down. Why would 2 Stanford educated world renowned still practicing dermatologists risk their medical career to develop a business practice that is not legal? To me, enough said.
  2. The products. Rodan+Fields is a billion dollar brand. 85% of the profits come from customer sales, not from business partner recruitment. Our products make up the number 1 skincare brand in North America. If the products didn’t work, or there were no products, we would not have seen the growth we have seen since the start.
  3. Rodan+Fields adheres to all guidelines by the Federal Trade Commissions. Up-line leaders or sponsors are not compensated for business building tools or practices related to adding new partners. For instance, in my recent post I shared how joining the Rodan+Fields business opportunity just got better (see that post here) there is a $75 sign on option for new partners (and we do not earn commissions on this).
  4. It is possible to earn more than those that have come before you. There is no cap in earning potential. Make no mistake, building a business like this takes time, commitment, persistence and grit, but you can do it! Unlike the typical corporate pyramid above, those at the bottom can surpass the ones at the time. Actually, it is happening now more than ever, with the resources and training we have in place.

Ask Yourself…

Is it possible to make money while working in business with Rodan+Fields? It absolutely is.

Is it possible to make money on product sales alone without building a “team?” Yep, 100%.

Rodan+Fields makes no promise of earning a certain level of income. This business is not easy. It takes consistency, commitment, and hard work. If you are a good self motivator, have a personality based on grit, and resilience I have no doubt that you will build a successful business. I am more than willing to help guide you along the way!
