You are in adulthood. You have figured yourself out, established in your career, married, kids, life is good, fun, and settled.

Then all of a sudden one day, you wake up, and your skin took a 180 turn back into young adult and teen years. Why on Earth would your skin break out the way it did as a teen? That doesn’t seem fair at all. You thought those years were past you!

I hear ya sister. Acne isn’t fun to deal with as a teen, let alone as an adult. But there are certain steps you can/should take in order to make sure your treatment plan is a success, and you get the clear/glowing skin you once had.

First, make a plan, whether you are seeking an over the counter remedy, or decide to make an appointment with a dermatologist, make sure you have a solid plan in place so you know exactly what needs to be done.

Once that plan is established, you can concentrate on these 3 things…

Treat the entire “field” or face, don’t just spot treat as this does a better job to prevent the next flare up.

Be consistent with your routine/regimen. This seems like a no brainer, but when it is late at night, sometimes it is so hard to make the time to wash your face. Trust me, you will thank yourself later. Take the time to get it done.

Lastly, Be patient. Unfortunately, it may not be an overnight success. Your skin could even “purge” meaning, as pores are being cleaned out and treated, your acne will get worse before better. The ultimate goal is to prevent future breakouts. You will want something that treats the entire acne cycle from start to finish. You are more likely to find success that way!
